Supplying the Building Trade in 2022

The French provincial style home with an Aussie touch has proved a popular architectural style in Australia, particularly in Melbourne, and its popularity has continued throughout this year. The Finishing Touch has provided decorative mouldings to builders to enhance this style over the years and their range includes some specific French provincial mouldings. More recently the build on a French provincial style home in Mt. Waverley created eye catching architectural interest with the addition of six arches with a span of 1000 mm wide and one arch with a span of 1800mm, all made up from window architrave, model # W1100.

The Finishing Touch are renowned for their lightweight, easy to install, high quality and long lasting decorative mouldings, but sometimes concrete versions are required in certain settings where the sturdier material is needed A build, situated in Ballan ordered 19 metres of solid concrete column capitals, size 231mm x 96mm, 19 metres solid concrete bases, size 200mm x 80mm together with eight fluted, square concrete columns size 350mm x 350mm (still a lighter version than a solid concrete column, bypassing the need for cranes to lift into place). The concrete versions are more difficult to install and carry a 30% higher price point.

Earlier in the year a French provincial style house of 60 squares in Balwyn North was supplied by the Finishing Touch with 15 metres of plinth, model # DGPL300, size 300mm x 40mm, and 75 metres of quoining panel, model # Q300, size 320mm x 30mm as well as 18 custom made corbels, consisting of eight sized 490mm x 130mm x 100mm, eight sized 580mm x 130mm x 10mm and two sized 580mm x 200mm x 120mm, creating stunning architectural features.

Window architraves,headers and footers and parapets are supplied to most builds, with other additional decorative mouldings adding extra architectural interest. This build is one of those, requiring 19 metres solid concrete column capitals, size 231mm x 96mm, 19 metres solid concrete base, size 200mm x 80mm together with eight fluted, square concrete columns size 350mm x 350mm (still a lighter version than a solid concrete column, bypassing the need for cranes to lift into place). Another builder has ordered customised decorative mouldings for a property in Brunswick. Supplied were 17 metres of custom parapet mouldings, size 350mm x 220mm, 17 metres of custom parapet mouldings, size 205mm x 125mm, and 45 metres of custom stringer moulding, size 105mm x 40mm along with three lengths of 2.5metre custom fence capping. Finishing Touch can supply customised decorative features, either a resizing of their current product range or completely individual styles and sizing, as per supplied specifications.
