A French provincial two storey home of 60 squares has been completed with the addition of the Finishing Touch decorative mouldings in Mt. Pleasant Drive, Mount Waverley. Six windows were decorated with 9.6 metres of window architrave model # W1100, sized 100mm x 45mm, 24 metres of special French provincial window architrave, model # W11RV with rivets (35mm), sized 150mm x 35mm, a single header arch, model # WH1A, 2 metres across, sized 175mm x 170mm, 3 keystones and 18 metres of window sill, model # WSR15, sized 135mm x 185mm.

The rest of the façade was beautifully finished with 17 metres of dentil mouldings, model #  P6400, sized 400mm x 380mm, 7.2 metres of dentil mouldings, model #  P6200, sized 200mm x 190mm, 92 metres French provincial parapet moulding, model #  P8300, sized 300mm x 235mm, 17 metres of French provincial stringer, model #  M22, sized 100mm x 45mm, 36 metres French provincial parapet moulding, model #   P8155, sized 155mm x 120mm, 46 metres French provincial stringer moulding model #  S6R2, sized 55mm x 27mm and 36 metres French provincial stringer, model #  S1R4, sized 90mm x 70mm.

Another French provincial home of 55 squares, of two storeys in Birdles Court, Balwyn was finessed with the addition of Finishing Touch lightweight, decorative mouldings. Six windows were decorated with 22 metres of French provincial window architraves, model # W19D, sized 120mm x 55mm and 10 metres French provincial window sills, model # WSR15, sized 135mm x 185mm. 9 metres of capitals, model # GC5, sized 87mm x 80mm completed rendered, brick columns.

15 metres of French provincial parapets, custom sized to 1000mm x 400mm, 60 metres of French provincial eave parapet, model # E4300, sized 300mm x 285mm, 22 metres of French provincial stringers, model # S60, sized 60mm x 45mm and 12 metres of under gutter moulding, model # PE70, sized 70mm x 70mm completed the stylish façade.

In Viscount Drive, Doncaster a build has just been completed of a 40 square post-modern home. A grand entrance features two columns, 300 diameter by 4 metres high, model # RO300, with Tuscan capitals and Doric bases. Nine windows were decorated with 288 metres of window sills, model # WSR1, sized 140mm x 210mm and 129 metres of window architraves, model # W1100, sized 100mm x 45mm.  63 metres of French provincial parapet, model # P8200, sized 200mm x 155mm completes the façade.

Retail House Building In Expansion Mode

In the month of June it was pleasing to note that the national construction industry expanded for a fifth consecutive month. The Australian Industry Group/Housing Industry Association Australian Performance of Construction Index (Australian PCI®) fell slightly by 0.7 points to 56.0. Readings above 50 indicate expansion in activity, the greater the number above 50 indicating the strength of the increase.

Residential house builders will be delighted to know that across the four construction sub-sectors, house building rebounded strongly in June to 59.0 (up 13.4 points). However, activity in the more volatile apartment building sub-sector weakened significantly (down 20.2 points to 48.3). Reports from residential builders to the Australian PCI were generally positive in their assessment of house building activity, citing stronger new orders.

Master Builders Boost Australian Made

A new partnership between the Australian Made Campaign and Master Builders Australia aims to boost exports and the use of locally made products by the building and construction sectors.

An initiative by the Australian Made Campaign in partnership with Master Builders Australia will encourage building and construction firms to source Australian-made goods. Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ian Harrison, stated that Australian-made often translated to better quality and durability adding “Australia’s extremely stringent quality and safety manufacturing standards have helped establish our reputation for well-made products, that last.”.

French Provincial Influences In Housing

A fifty square home in the French provincial style in Malvern East is the Finishing Touch ‘s latest project, supplying a large number and variety of lightweight, high quality, decorative mouldings.  They are supplying 7.8 metres of a large parapet, model # P300JV, 300mm x 260mm in size, which is the centrepiece feature above the balcony. 75 metres of under gutter moulding, model # P7140, sized 140mm x 75mm conceals guttering and 80 metres of a smaller parapet, model # P7270, sized 270mm x 145mm creates a feature between the first floor and ground floor. Ten windows will be decorated with 108 metres of French provincial window architraves, model # W1100, sized 100mm x 45mm both upstairs and downstairs and 23 metres of window sills, model # WSR15, sized 135mm x 185mm. An arch is a feature at the front entrance with four columns creating a magnificent façade. The columns are round and tapered in shape, three metres high, 260mm at the base tapering to 210 mm at the top, finished with a Tuscan capital at the top and a Doric base at the bottom.

A house in Doncaster is currently under development. This post-modern, fifty square home requires the following decorative mouldings:

A fifty square home in Keysborough, post-modern design with French provincial influences, has been finished in quality decorative mouldings supplied by the Finishing Touch.
